Sakura from Starbucks. Japan

Dear All,

Following the season, I will start my writing about my food journey with "Sakura Sponge Cake" and "Sakura Steamer". Although the spring season, when the Sakura blossom appear, is almost or may be just finish, but it is still a happy things for me to start the story with this food. (which also means that, I just wanna start with this food, no matter what I said before - just cliche, :p).

Well, this is actually just an ordinary sponge cake with pink color, covered with sweet white cream and decorate by one Sakura leave on the top. I have to admit that I buy this just because the Sakura booming itself, not because the taste is proven delicious by anyone.Besides, I also curious about this cake's taste. For the looks, I will give 8 as a score, in a highest range of 10. It is because its eye catching pink color, and its casual form (not in a form of star/pyramid), makes the cake looks exclusive and interesting, even though the size is looks quite big for a piece of sponge cake.

So, how about the taste itself. Its surprisingly has a real Sakura taste. Well, I actually don't know how is the Sakura taste like. But, its feel that, when I eat this cake, this is what Sakura taste gonna looks like. Soft, sweet, a little bit sour and a little bit creamy. It is one of food that I will said that, fun to eat. Because you gonna taste its sweetness first, and when you chew its sponge, you will feel its softness and its sour at the end so that you will not feel fed up when you try to finish this. Why I said this fun, because you will taste different sensation every time you chew. Its sounds exaggerate, but its just how I define "Fun to Eat" in my own food-ism dictionary.

How, about the Sakura Steamer. It is also perfect, it is like matcha latte but, taste like Sakura. There is no soft in here like the sponge but, you can taste the sweetness and the sour taste also in this drink. Actually I do like the drink more that the cake.

I buy this/ may be eat this, more precisely, in 2010. I already forgot the exact date, but as you can see I eat this with my friend who order marshmallow cookies instead following me to order Sakura Cake in Sakura fever time (which happen every year in Japan).

Anyway, this duo Sakura special edition is quite good and recommended for you to try. If you by any coincidence are in Japan now, my suggestion is, you have to try/ at least check this out.
The steamer is really good for you who like warm drink. Oh, there is also a Sakura Frappuccino for you who like it cold.

Herewith I show you two of my Starbucks Tumbler Collection form Japan. Why I show Fukuoka tumbler, its because I eat this at Starbucks Fukuoka, Japan. There are 2 of them which are, the previous edition on the right side and the new edition on the left.

So for you who like sakura, you can just take you little time to relax, releasing all your stress and problem, and feel the Sakura, not only in your eyes but also through its taste.

Happy good food good mood.
Remember, there will be no big happiness without a little happy things inside.
